Superintendent's Message...

USD 248 students excel in all areas of academics and athletics. Safety is a high priority in Girard schools. The district has periodic safety checks using staff and outside sources as well as security cameras, motion detectors, two-way radios, and a school resource officer who assists personnel. We practice safety drills and have crisis plans and innovative policies in place that allow us to create a safe environment where students and staff learn, work, and play.

The Girard community has high expectations for its educational system and is willing to support students and teachers with adequate classrooms, educational materials, and supplies. The result is that when USD 248 students graduate, they are prepared for higher education and the technological challenges of the work world. Girard is an exemplary school district with a clear mission and the will to make good things happen for children.
