Elks Most Valuable Student

The Elks lodge will award several scholarships in the region, state and nationally. In the past, these have been $500 scholarships. Factors include academics, community service, employment, honors/awards, activities, leadership, financial, and leadership. Go to http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm to apply.

 

Burger King Scholarships

The Burger King Foundation will award several scholarships through its scholarship process. Go to www.bk-scholars.com to learn more and to apply.

 

American Legion - Hobble (LPN) Nursing Scholarship

American Legion - Hugh A Smith Scholarship

This $500 will be awarded to the son or daughter of a member of the American Legion or the Auxiliary who has been a member at least 3 years or, if deceased, were paid up at the time of their death. Financial need will be considered and the student must be an average or better student. American Legion - Ted and Nora Anderson Scholarship

Four $500 scholarships will be awareded to children of American Legion and/or Auxiliary members based on academics, financial need and are of major. Go to http://www.ksamlegion.org/page/content/programs/scholarships to download the application.

 

American Legion - Music Committee Scholarship

This $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who has distinguished himself or herself in the field of music and/or who will major or minor in music at an approved Kansas college. To download the application or learn more, go to http://www.ksamlegion.org/page/content/programs/scholarships

 

American Legion - Rosendale Post 346 Scholarship

Two $1500 scholarships will be awarded to the son or daughter of a veteran who has been a member of the American Legion or Auxiliary or, if deceased, was a paid up member at the time of their death. To download the application, go to http://www.ksamlegion.org/page/content/programs/scholarships

 

American Legion - Albert M. Lappin Scholarship

A $1000 scholarship will be awarded to the son or daughter of a veteran who has been a member of the American Legion or Auxiliary for the past 3 years (or was a paid up member at the time of their death). Go to http://www.ksamlegion.org/page/content/programs/scholarships to apply.

 

American Legion - Charles W. & Annette Hill Scholarship

This $1000 will be awarded to the descendent of a veteran who has been a member of the American Legion for the past three years or, if deceased, was a paid up member at the time of his/her death. To download the application, go to http://www.ksamlegion.org/page/content/programs/scholarships

 

American Legion - Shooting Sports Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student who has participated in an American Legion Shooting Sports program. The applicant must be an average or better student scholastically. To download the application, go to http://www.ksamlegion.org/page/content/programs/scholarships

 

American Legion - U.S. "Udie" Grant Scholarship

This $500 scholarship ($250 at the beginning of two semesters) will be awarded to the son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter of a member of the Sons of the American Legion for the last three years. To apply, go to http://www.ksamlegion.org/page/content/programs/scholarships

 

American Legion - Jay B. Thielen Scholarship

Kansas Junior Golf Scholarship

The Kansas Golf Foundation will award 5 scholarships this year. This is an academic scholarship, but students must have participated in junior golf activities (including high school golf) to be eligible. This is a $5000 scholarship ($1250 per year), but students must attend a college in Kansas to receive the scholarship. Various Local Scholarships

The USD 248 Scholarship Application, that is used by numerous local scholarship donors, is due March 31st each year.  Since March 31st is a Saturday, applications will be accepted until Monday, April 2nd.  Any local scholarship donors that do not use this application will be posted separately. See Mrs. Hey for a copy or obtain it electronically from Canvas. I recommend you type (rather than handwrite) this application.

 

American Legion - Paul Flaherty Athletic Scholarship
